Cancellations & Other Camp Policies

Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds:
All reschedule requests and/or cancellations must be submitted via email to info@summerofsurf.com.

We try to be as accommodating and understanding as possible when it comes to cancellations and rescheduling. However, late cancellations and rescheduling put a significant strain on our staff as filling these last minute spots can be very difficult. Cancellations made before the season starts, and with at least a month notice will be refunded (minus the registration fee), no problem. Any cancellations made after the season starts or less than a month before your camper is scheduled will be handled on a case by case basis, but generally if you give us at least 2 weeks notice, refund is possible, but will incur a $15/day cancellation fee. Refunds will not be available cancellations made less than 8 days in advance of the campers first scheduled camp day. Rescheduling will follow these same rules.

We will always do our best to accommodate reschedule requests, but we are, of course, limited by our availability. Once a day is full there isn’t anything we can do.

Bullying:
We have a Zero Tolerance Policy for any bullying. We have never had much trouble with bullies at camp, but every once in a while we will have an issue, and we strongly encourage parents to inform the staff or management of any incidents of bullying. All incidents will be taken seriously and handed accordingly. Any “bullies” will no longer be allowed to attend camp, and refunds will only be given per our Cancellation Policy (see above).

Camp Drop-off and Pick-up:
All campers must be signed in and out by a listed guardian.

We will do our best to keep to the pick up /drop off schedule, however we are always at the mercy of LA traffic. Any significant delays (more than 10 minutes or so) will be communicated via text message.

The bus WILL NOT WAIT for late campers and/or parents. Our Pick up/Drop Off schedule is very tight, and it is unfair for other parents and campers to hold up the bus to wait for late participants. However, if you do miss us at one pick up location, you are absolutely welcome to meet us at the next one, but please et us know if you plan to do this.

Other Policies:

If a camper wants to bring a surfboard, boogie board or any other equipment, it must be approved in advance my camp management. All surfboards must be soft top / foam (per city regulation). It will be the campers responsibility to manage and care for their equipment. Summer of Surf will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.
